Our Achievements
1979
Inland container depot facility was established on a land area of approximately one acre at the present location in Welisara, initially to provide services to CTI & ICS containers belonging to two of the world’s largest container leasing companies.
1980
Commenced providing depot services to the Ceylon Shipping Corporation, the national carrier. Constructed 1st warehouse of 15,000 sq.ft.
1981
Extended land area of depot to 4 acres. Acquired 3 prime movers and 6, 40 ft trailers to set up transport division.
1982
Established Container Freight Stations (CFS)
1983
Set up Multimodal Container Terminal Ltd., as 2nd depot facility in Hendala, Wattala
1985
Expanded into container trading and domestic leasing activities.
1986
Extended land area of depot to 6 acres. Established container refurbishing plant
1990
Extended land area of depot to 8.5 acres
1995
Started project cargo division
1996
Won Quality Depot Award from Transamerica Leasing Incorporated, USA, for the best depot among 29 depots in the South East Asian region.
1999
Won Gold Medal from Transamerica Leasing Incorporated, USA, for the best depot among 29 depots in the South East Asian region
2002
Established ISO tank cleaning services
2004
Established container conversion division
2005
Constructed 2nd warehouse of 15,000 sq.ft
2008
McLarens Logistics Ltd was incorporated as a shipping agency, NVOCC and ISO tank agency, and freight forwarding company.
2014
Established custom brokerage division
2015
Second shipping agency division established- Specialised Shipping Services Pvt Ltd
2016
Multimodal depot operation shifted to Tudella, Ja-Ela
2018
Obtained ISO: 9001 – 2015 Certification, McLARENS CONTAINERS (PVT) LTD, McLARENS REFURBISHERS LIMITED, MULTIMODAL CONTAINER TERMINAL LIMITED
2019
Appointed as service agent for Carrier Transicold in Sri Lanka for reefer container services and setting up of Reefer Container Repair facility inside Colombo PORT.
2020
Wining ICS-NOCC award for best Customer Service, ISO Certificate for McLarens Logistics Limited and Specialised Shipping Services (Pvt) Ltd.
2021
Setting-up 2nd Depot facility at No. 47, Galudupita, Welisara for facilitate 1200 Tues.
