Mr. Neil De Silva- Chairman

Mr Neil De Silva is a shipping industry professional with over 40 years of hands-on experience in the shipping and container industry.

Mr Neil De Silva commenced his shipping career in 1971, as a Cadet Officer on cargo ships. He obtained his initial shipping experience at the Ceylon Shipping Corporation.

He joined McLarens in 1975, and prior to his appointment to the board of management, worked as a Shipping Executive. He was initially in charge of casual callers and thereafter trained in liner shipping at the shipping principal’s office of DDG HANSA Lines in Bremen, Germany. While at DDG HANSA, he participated in study tours to major ports such as Antwerp, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Bremerhaven.

He pioneered the container leasing business in Sri Lanka representing ICS and CTI, two of the world’s leading container leasing companies and later set up an inland container terminal.

As Chairman, he overlooks the management, human resource, finance and infrastructure development activities of the group.

He was the past president of the Rotary Club of Colombo Fort and is currently a member of the club.


Mr. H.A.D. De Silva- Group Managing Director

Mr Harsha de Silva has a B.Sc in Business Management from the University of Warwick, UK (1995-98). He obtained his initial work experience as a trainee at the shipping agencies, GAC Dubai, GAC Shipping Colombo and the Mitsui OSK Agency in Colombo.

He joined the McLarens Logistics Group in 2002 as the group General Manager, and was responsible for the group’s diversification into ISO tank depot services, freight forwarding, NVOCC and ISO tank agency, shipping agency, and container conversions businesses. In 2008 he was assigned the position of Group Managing Director.

Mr Harsha De Silva is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, UK and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, UK. He has also obtained the IICL-USA Container Inspector qualification.

He is member of the Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs and is also responsible for the business development activities of the group.


Mr. A.I.M. Muhsin Joint Managing Director

Mr. A.I.M. Muhsin counts over 40 years of experience in the field of shipping, container depot operations and other logistics functions, including container leasing, container freight station, container trading activities, and plays a pivotal role in the execution and enforcement of guidelines and control procedures of the McLarens Logistics Group. His dedication and professionalism has earned several awards of recognition from foreign principals, with whom he liaises closely on all aspects of container operations.

Mr. Muhsin joined the McLarens Group in 1976 as a Management Trainee and was appointed General Manager of the McLarens Logistics Group in 1987 and was subsequently appointed a Director in 1993.

Mr. Muhsin is a B.Sc Science graduate from the University of Ceylon.


Mr. K.G. De Silva- Executive Director

Mr. K.G. De Silva counts over 18 years of financial experience in the field of shipping, container depot operations and logistics functions, including container leasing, container freight station, container trading activities, and plays a pivotal role in the execution and enforcement of guidelines and control procedures of the McLarens Containers Group.

Mr. De Silva, who has work experience in the UAE, joined the McLarens Group in 2009 as an Assistant Accountant and following various internal assignments within the group was appointed Finance Director of the McLarens Logistics Group of Companies in 2016.


Mr. W. Joe Perera- Consultant & Director HR

 

Mr. W. Joe Perera is an author of educational books and is an experienced educationalist involved in forming education policies both in Sri Lanka and abroad. He served as the Chief Education Officer, Nigeria from 1980 to 1985, the Principal Education Officer (Mathematics) in Singapore from 1986 – 1988, and as the Director of Education (Mathematics) in the Seychelles from 1988 to 1993. Mr. Perera has worked in various commercial sectors, gaining over 20 years of experience working in human resource management. In 2013, he joined the McLarens Logistics Group as the Human Resources & Administration Director.

Mr. Perera has a B.Sc (Mathematics) from the University of Kelaniya and an MBA from the University of Colombo. He has a Diploma in Mathematics from the University of Sheffield and has been trained under a UNESCO scholarship programme and Commonwealth Scholarship.

He is currently involved in the ISO certification process of the McLarens Logistics Group.
